3 Ways to Stay Healthy and Avoid Spreading Workplace Germs
Along with the holiday cheer of winter time also comes the germs of the season. As temporary workers, the possibility of floating between many offices or assignments during this season is very likely. And, with so much interaction between offices the chance of catching and spreading germs is also very likely. We’ve complied our favorite hacks to stay healthy this New Year!
- Wipe down your work area. Germs can linger on surfaces for hours and even days. Wiping down the new surface you are working at whether that be a desk, keyboard and phone headset, or your station on a production line, cleaning it with a sanitizing wipe or good old-fashioned soap and water can reduce the germs that you come in contact with while performing your daily duties.
- Stay well rested. Be proactive and make sure you are giving your body the rest that it needs to continue to stay healthy. The National Sleep Foundation recommends adults from 18-65 years get from 7-9 hours of sleep each night. Understandably, that much sleep may feel like a luxury to some, but taking your health and sleep seriously is proven to decrease your chances of catching and fighting a cold.
- Know when to stay home. If you have a fever, please call your recruiter and let them know you are not able to make it into your assignment. While we don’t advocate for staying home for a small cold, we do want to keep our clients healthy and make sure you are getting the rest you need while sick to get better quickly.
